The Honda Goldwing Tour

The Honda Goldwing Tour boasts a flat 1833cc 6-cylinder 24V liquid-cooled SOHC engine that delivers a robust 125 bhp and 170 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DCT transmission. This motorcycle is part of Honda's prestigious Goldwing range, known for its opulence in the world of touring bikes. Combining elements of both a touring bike and a bagger-style motorcycle, the Goldwing Tour represents the pinnacle of the Goldwing lineup. Priced at a premium of Rs. 39.2 lakh (ex-showroom) due to its import as a completely built unit (CBU) to India, the Goldwing Tour offers unmatched luxury.

The Goldwing Tour has officially made its debut in the Indian market, although it has characteristics akin to a bagger, Honda has consistently labeled it as a luxury tourer. This motorcycle is tailored for riders with a penchant for lavish cross-continental journeys. Honda exclusively offers the Goldwing Tour in a Graphite Black color variant, and bookings have already commenced, with availability at all BigWing dealerships.

Distinguishing itself from the regular Goldwing, the Goldwing Tour comes standard with features such as a top box, a comfortable pillion seat, an extended windscreen, and heated seats. The electrically adjustable windscreen can be controlled from the left handlebar for added convenience. Safety-wise, the Goldwing Tour includes a single airbag for rider protection, a valuable feature during unforeseen circumstances. The motorcycle's dimensions are substantial, with a length of 2615 mm, width of 905 mm, height of 1430 mm, and a wheelbase of 1695 mm. The seat height is accessible at 745 mm, and it offers a ground clearance of 130 mm. With the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, the Goldwing Tour weighs a substantial 390 kg, which contributes to its inherent stability, a hallmark of Goldwing motorcycles.

Design-wise, the Goldwing Tour exudes a commanding presence on the road with its imposing size. The substantial fairing provides excellent rider protection, while the LED headlights and fog lights offer enhanced visibility. The intricate leather seats harmonize with the overall aesthetics, and the luggage compartments, including the capacious 61L trunk, blend seamlessly with the design. Eye-catching elements include turn indicators integrated into the ORVMs and the prominent powertrain.

Powering the Goldwing Tour is an impressive 1833cc flat 6-cylinder 24V liquid-cooled SOHC engine with four valves per cylinder. It generates approximately 125 bhp at 5500 RPM and 170 Nm of torque at 4500 RPM. This engine requires 5.6 liters of oil, and the sizable 21.1-liter fuel tank ensures a range of 350 to 400 km on a full tank. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel through a 7-speed DCT and a shaft drive, a configuration reminiscent of automobiles. The Goldwing Tour boasts a car-like double wishbone front suspension and a Pro-Link rear setup. The braking system features twin discs at the front and single disc rotors with high-quality hardware (6-piston front and 3-piston rear) for confident stopping power. The motorcycle rides on 130/70R18 front and 200/55R16 rear tires for optimal grip and stability.

The Goldwing Tour offers a range of features, including Throttle By Wire (TBW) and cruise control. Its centerpiece is a 7-inch infotainment screen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, in addition to providing navigation. Flanking this central display are analog speedometer and tachometer dials. The premium audio system comes with built-in speakers. Notable features also include Bluetooth connectivity, a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), USB-C ports, and convenient functions like creep and reverse.

In terms of competition, the Goldwing Tour rivals familiar contenders such as the BMW K1600 GTL, Indian Roadmaster, Indian Chieftain Limited, Harley-Davidson Road Glide, and others.
