Title: Tata Motors Launches Cutting-Edge CNG AMT Variants for Tiago and Tigor with Innovative Features and Stylish Options

Tata Motors has introduced the industry's pioneering CNG AMT cars, namely the Tiago and Tigor iCNG AMT, with prices starting at Rs. 7.89 lakhs (ex-showroom). The AMT variants come at a premium of approximately Rs. 60,000 over their manual counterparts.

The Tiago iCNG AMT is offered in three variants – XTA, XZA+, and XZA NRG, while the Tigor iCNG AMT is available in two variants – XZA and XZA+. The latest additions also bring new color options, including Tornado Blue for the Tiago, Grassland Beige for Tiago NRG, and Meteor Bronze for the Tigor.

Both vehicles are equipped with the same 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine generating 72 BHP at 6000 RPM and 95 Nm of torque at 3500 RPM in CNG mode. In petrol mode, the engine delivers 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque. A 5-speed AMT, in addition to the standard 5-speed manual transmission, complements this engine.

These variants feature twin-cylinder CNG tanks positioned beneath the luggage areas to optimize boot space. A single ECU ensures seamless transitions between petrol and CNG modes, with the cars starting directly in CNG mode, eliminating the need for manual switching each time the car is started.

A micro switch integrated into the system turns off the ignition when the fuel lid is opened, remaining inactive until the lid is securely closed. The iCNG technology incorporates safety measures, including an immediate cutoff of CNG supply during a thermal incident, with gas released directly into the atmosphere through a specialized nozzle.
