Tesla Powers Past 5 Million EV Milestone: A Charged Achievement

tesla

Tesla recently celebrated a significant production milestone by reaching the impressive mark of 5 million electric vehicles (EVs) manufactured. This achievement comes two decades after the company's inception in 2003. Tesla's journey began with the introduction of the Roadster in 2008, and while the Roadster is no longer in production, the company currently boasts a lineup comprising four models: the Model 3, Model X, Model S, and Model Y. Tesla is also gearing up for the launch of its highly anticipated Cybertruck, which is expected to hit the market soon, and it has the Semi truck in its commercial vehicle lineup.

Notably, Tesla hit its first million in production in 2020 and has since escalated production numbers rapidly. The company operates four manufacturing facilities globally: two in the USA located in Fremont, California, and Austin, Texas, one in Shanghai, China, and another in Berlin, Germany. The 5 millionth Tesla produced was a Pearl White Model 3 Highland, rolling off the assembly line in the Shanghai plant.

In addition to this remarkable EV production milestone, Tesla recently announced the installation of its 50,000th Supercharger station. This significant achievement took place in Roseville, California, and stood out with a distinctive red color scheme, setting it apart from the usual two-tone white and red Supercharger design.
