Tata Motors is once again making waves in the automotive world, and this time, it's not just about the facelifted Harrier and Safari but also the remarkable 5-star safety ratings they've clinched in Global NCAP crash tests, solidifying Tata's commitment to vehicular safety. Both SUVs have recently been updated to keep pace with their rivals, boasting extended equipment lists and refreshed looks. The starting price for the new Harrier is Rs 15.5 lakh, while the Safari kicks off at Rs 16.2 lakh (ex-showroom).

These two SUVs have always stood out for their commanding road presence, and the facelifted versions further enhance their appeal. Embracing Tata's new design language, inspired by the upcoming Curvv concept, the new Harrier and Safari present a futuristic aesthetic that sets them apart in the world of high-tech machines. Some of the standout features include redesigned headlamps, LED DRLs, a light bar, sequential turn indicators, grille, bumper, and exciting new color options like Sunlit Yellow for the Harrier and Cosmic Gold for the Safari. Sporting 19-inch alloy wheels with a sporty aero insert, these SUVs make a bold statement. At the rear, interconnected LED tail lamps contribute to a distinctive look.

Inside, major upgrades include a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10-JBL speaker system, a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof with mood lights, customizable themes, and a front armrest with cooled storage. The Safari goes a step further with both first and second-row ventilated seats. The updated Harrier and Safari also feature a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo.

However, the true highlight of the story lies in safety. Tata vehicles are renowned for their robust build and safety, and this reputation is further validated by the 5-star Global NCAP safety ratings. Tata Motors has demonstrated unwavering dedication to vehicle safety, as proven by these exceptional results.

The crash tests for the Safari and Harrier were conducted as part of Global NCAP's campaign ahead of Bharat NCAP activation in the coming months. These tests assessed both SUVs for frontal and side impact protection, electronic aids, adult and child occupant protection, and pedestrian protection. The results speak volumes, with both vehicles scoring a stellar 5-star crash rating.

In adult occupant safety, the Tata Safari and Harrier scored an impressive 33.05 points out of a maximum of 34 points, demonstrating their excellence. In child occupant protection, the scores reached 45 out of a possible 49 points. The body shell was rated as stable, offering good and adequate protection for adult occupants, with only marginal protection for the driver's chest in the side pole impact test.

For child occupant safety, the Harrier and Safari secured a dynamic score of 24/24, a CRS installation score of 12/12, and a vehicle assessment score of 9/13. Collectively, these results underscore Tata's dedication to safety, beginning with a 4-star rating for models like the Tiago and Tigor and extending to 5-star ratings for the Nexon, Altroz, Punch, and now, the Harrier and Safari flagship SUVs.

Both the Harrier and Safari have been bolstered with advanced safety equipment, including 7 airbags, an advanced ESP with 17 functions, and 11 ADAS features. In the crash tests, they also benefit from the robust OMEGARC platform, a derivative of Land Rover's D8 platform.
