Tata Nexon CNG on the Horizon? Clues Suggest Yes!

In a recent development, Tata has launched the highly anticipated Nexon facelift and Nexon EV facelift earlier this month. Tata has made significant strides in offering unique designs and introducing several segment-first features with these updated models. They have also provided a wide range of variants, giving customers the flexibility to choose according to their preferences. However, one notable absence from the Nexon facelift lineup is the lack of a CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) option, which some customers may have been hoping for.

Nexon CNG cluster

Interestingly, there is a recent video circulating online that hints at the possibility of a CNG variant for the Tata Nexon in the future. In this video, a person is seen examining the Nexon EV, but what caught everyone's attention is the instrument cluster, which oddly displays a CNG bar. This has led to speculation that Tata might be considering adding a CNG option to the Nexon lineup in the future.

It's worth noting that automakers often utilize shared components and technology across their various models, and in this case, both the Nexon and Nexon EV share the same digital instrument cluster. The presence of the CNG bar on the Nexon EV's instrument cluster could be attributed to a coding glitch or error in the software. However, this accidental revelation has sparked excitement among enthusiasts who are hopeful that Tata is indeed working on a CNG variant of the Nexon.

While this information is not officially confirmed by Tata Motors, the appearance of the CNG indicator in the instrument cluster suggests that the possibility of a Tata Nexon i-CNG variant in the future is something to keep an eye on. If Tata decides to go ahead with this option, it could potentially cater to a segment of customers looking for a more eco-friendly and cost-effective alternative fuel option.
