Tata Motors has officially unveiled the updated Tata Nexon EV facelift, which is set to hit the market on September 14th, with pricing details to be revealed on the same day. While the refreshed model shares a resemblance with its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart, there are notable distinctions that set them apart.

Up front, the facelifted Nexon EV showcases a continuous LED light strip on the front nose and a slightly revised bumper. These LED lights offer dynamic features like welcome and farewell sequences, as well as charging status indicators. The rear lights also incorporate welcome and farewell animations. Color choices for the Nexon EV include white, grey, teal, purple, and red.

The Nexon EV is offered in three variants: Empowered, Fearless, and Creative. It boasts a generously sized 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, surpassing the ICE version's 10.25-inch unit. The 10.25-inch digital cluster remains unchanged, as does the two-spoke steering wheel featuring an illuminated logo and backlit buttons.

Impressive features include a 9-speaker JBL audio system complete with a subwoofer, access to OTT apps via Arcade.ev, a wireless charger, wireless compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an air purifier, electronic parking brake, auto-dimming interior rearview mirror (IRVM), rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, and a sunroof, among other amenities.

In terms of safety, the Nexon EV comes equipped with standard features such as 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, front parking sensors, ISOFIX child seat anchors, SOS call functionality, Blind Spot Monitoring, Hill Ascent Control, Hill Descent Control, and all-disc brakes, among others.

Tata Motors has replaced the previous Prime and Max designations with two new options for the Nexon EV: Medium Range and Long Range.

  • The Medium Range variant is equipped with a 30kWh battery.

  • The Long Range variant features a larger 40.5kWh battery pack.

These batteries provide an ARAI-rated range of 325 km and 465 km, respectively, marking a 12 km increase compared to the previous Nexon EV.

One of the most noteworthy features of the Nexon EV facelift is its bi-directional charging capability, enabling Vehicle-to-Vehicle and Vehicle-to-Load charging. This allows you to use the vehicle to charge other electric cars and electrical appliances.

The electric powertrain in the Medium Range variant delivers 129 HP and 215 Nm of torque, while the Long Range version produces 142 HP and 215 Nm of torque. Notably, the power output remains unchanged, but torque has decreased by 30 Nm and 38 Nm, respectively.

The Nexon EV facelift boasts a 0-100 km/hr acceleration time of 8.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 150 km/hr. It offers three driving modes: Eco, City, and Sport, along with a 4-level regeneration system.
