Tata Altroz Racer Launches at Rs. 9.49 Lakhs: Sporty New Look and Powerful Performance
Tata Motors has launched the Altroz Racer with a starting price of Rs. 9.49 lakhs (ex-showroom, introductory) for the R1 variant. The R2 and R3 variants are priced at Rs. 10.49 lakhs and Rs. 10.99 lakhs, respectively.
The hatchback features sporty exterior and interior elements along with enhanced features and a more powerful engine. While the design remains the same, the Altroz Racer boasts racy styling bits like a dual-tone treatment with white stripes on the hood and roof. Available in Pure Grey, Atomic Orange, and Avenue White, the Racer also sports black alloy wheels (identical to those in the standard version) and a larger roof-mounted spoiler for a sportier look.
Inside, the Altroz Racer features an all-black interior with orange contrasting elements on the dashboard, AC vent surrounds, steering wheel stitching, and upholstery stripes. Orange ambient lighting adorns the center console and footwell, adding to the sporty aesthetic.
New features include a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an all-digital instrument cluster. Tata Motors is also offering features like a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, wireless charger, sunroof with voice assist, air purifier, and six airbags as standard across all Racer variants.
The Tata Altroz Racer is powered by a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine from the Nexon, producing 120 PS at 5500 RPM and 170 Nm of torque between 1750 to 4000 RPM. This engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission only, with no DCA automatic option available. The Racer also features a louder exhaust note.
Additionally, Tata Motors has introduced two new variants (XZ LUX and XZ+S LUX) and upgraded one variant (XZ+OS) in the regular Altroz range. These new variants offer a choice of petrol manual, petrol DCA, diesel, and CNG powertrains.
The XZ LUX includes all features of the XZ plus a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 360-degree camera, and Android Auto & Apple CarPlay over WiFi. The XZ+S LUX adds six airbags to these features. The upgraded XZ+ OS variant includes all features of the XZ+S LUX, along with iRA Connected Car tech and an air purifier.
