At the Japan Mobility Show, Suzuki has taken the wraps off the updated eVX concept, providing a sneak peek into the electric future of SUVs. This revamped concept features striking design elements, including bold headlights, LED DRLs on the grille, a robust bumper with cladding, and a skid plate, giving it a futuristic yet rugged appeal. The side profile showcases stylish alloy wheels, cladded wheel arches, and sleek doors, while the rear of the eVX boasts connected tail lamps, a sharp roof-mounted spoiler, and rugged bumper detailing. With dimensions measuring 4300 mm in length, 1800 mm in width, and 1600 mm in height, and rolling on 245/45 R20 tires, the eVX makes a statement.

However, the real star of the show is the interior of this concept. Sporting a sci-fi-inspired floating dashboard and a distinctive square-shaped two-spoke steering wheel, the eVX's cabin offers a unique glimpse into the future of electric mobility. The infotainment system and digital cluster display appear seamlessly integrated with a translucent effect, likely a concept-only feature. The vertical AC vent layout adds a touch of modernity, and the clean center console features a rotary dial and touch-sensitive gear selection buttons.

The seating design is equally distinctive, and the cabin exudes spaciousness and an airy feel, enhanced by the panoramic sunroof. While many of these design elements may not translate to the production model, the overall interior theme is expected to draw inspiration from this concept.

Though details about the powertrain remain undisclosed, Suzuki has revealed that the eVX concept is equipped with a 60 kWh battery promising a range of 550 km on a full charge. Maruti Suzuki is anticipated to introduce two variants of this electric SUV, with the base model featuring a 48 kWh battery offering around 400 km of range on a full charge.

This groundbreaking vehicle marks Maruti Suzuki's foray into the world of all-electric cars, with plans to launch the production version in India by 2025. Additionally, a Toyota version of this electric SUV is also in the pipeline, with both models set to rival the forthcoming all-electric Hyundai Creta expected to debut in 2024. The eVX concept symbolizes an exciting step forward in the Indian electric vehicle landscape.
