Tata Nexon to Get Panoramic Sunroof Soon After Mahindra XUV 3XO Launch

Following Mahindra's introduction of the XUV 3XO with a segment-first panoramic sunroof, Tata Motors is set to respond by adding the same feature to the Nexon. Recently, the compact SUV was spotted equipped with a panoramic sunroof, indicating it is ready for showroom release.

Tata Motors is expected to officially announce the new variant in the coming days. While the video doesn't show any additional changes, a few more features may be included with this variant.

The new trim will be positioned as the top-end model of the Nexon, with an estimated price increase of around Rs. 50,000 over the regular variant. It remains to be seen if the Nexon's panoramic sunroof will be larger than that of the XUV 3XO.

The Tata Nexon is available with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. The 1.2-litre turbo petrol produces 120 HP and 170 Nm of torque and is available with a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed AMT, and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic with paddle shifters. The 1.5-litre diesel engine generates 115 HP and 160 Nm of torque, mated to either a 6-speed manual or AMT gearbox.

The Nexon.ev comes in Medium Range and Long Range variants. The Medium Range electric powertrain produces 129 HP and 215 Nm of torque, while the Long Range version delivers 142 HP and 215 Nm of torque. The new panoramic sunroof is expected to be available in both ICE and EV variants.

Other features include automatic climate control, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and a 360-degree camera.

The Tata Nexon competes with the recently launched Mahindra XUV 3XO, as well as the Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and similar models.
