"Sneak Peek: Suzuki Unveils 2024 Swift Concept Ahead of Tokyo Motor Show Debut – India Launch Expect

Suzuki has unveiled the 2024 Swift concept ahead of its debut at the Tokyo Motor Show, providing a glimpse of the upcoming new generation Swift, set to be showcased in its near-production form. The Japanese automaker plans to launch the new Swift globally next year, and there are expectations for an early introduction in India by Maruti Suzuki.

The design of the new generation Swift represents a subtle evolution from its predecessor. While maintaining an overall similar structure, it introduces distinct styling details, including a new clamshell bonnet, sharper headlights with a fresh LED Daytime Running Light (DRL) setup, a redesigned grille, and an updated bumper with projector fog lights.

Adding to the aesthetics are 5-spoke diamond-cut alloy wheels, a return to conventional door handles for the rear doors (replacing the flap-type handles on the c-pillar in the current version), new squared tail lamps with revised light details, and a dual-tone-styled bumper.

Inside, the new Swift concept's interior bears a striking resemblance to Suzuki's current range of cars. It features a flat-bottom steering wheel, an enlarged floating touchscreen infotainment system, and a layered dashboard with multiple color tones of black and grey.

Suzuki aims to prioritize safety with the new Swift, offering features such as Dual Sensor Brake Support, Collision Mitigating Braking, Adaptive High Beam System, and Driver Monitoring System.

While official engine details are yet to be confirmed, it is anticipated that Maruti Suzuki in India will continue to offer the familiar 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine. There are also expectations for the inclusion of the 1.0-litre BoosterJet turbo petrol. Speculations surround the introduction of a new strong hybrid petrol engine, developed in collaboration with Toyota, which is rumored to achieve a fuel efficiency upwards of 35 km/l. This hybrid engine is expected to be available not only in the Swift but also in the Dzire model.
