Mercedes has just introduced a wave of exciting updates in India, featuring the revamped GLE LWB and the high-performance AMG C 43. The GLE lineup now boasts three variants, the 300d, 450, and 450d, with prices ranging from Rs. 96.40 lakhs to Rs. 1.15 crores (ex-showroom). On the other hand, the Mercedes AMG C 43 is ready to make a statement with a price tag of Rs. 98 lakhs (ex-showroom).

The GLE LWB facelift shows off subtle exterior changes, including a refreshed grille design, updated headlights, new bumpers, and stylish alloy wheels. The 450d and 450 variants also sport the sporty AMG body styling for added flair. Inside, the cabin retains its elegance but features improved materials, a new 3-spoke steering wheel, and the cutting-edge MBUX infotainment system, complete with a Burmester sound system boasting 13 speakers and a powerful 590-watt output.

Under the hood, the GLE's updated engines now come with ISG technology. The GLE 300d packs a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder diesel engine, delivering 269 HP and 550 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/hr in just 6.9 seconds and hits a top speed of 230 km/hr. Meanwhile, the GLE 450d is equipped with a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder diesel engine, producing a robust 367 HP and 750 Nm of torque. It sprints from 0 to 100 km/hr in 5.6 seconds, reaching a top speed of 250 km/hr. The GLE 450 houses a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder petrol engine generating 381 HP and 500 Nm of torque, achieving the same acceleration and top speed figures. All three engines are paired with a smooth 9-speed automatic transmission.

In a league of its own, the Mercedes AMG C 43 is the performance-oriented version of the C-Class. It exhibits sportier exterior and interior elements, along with a groundbreaking 2.0-liter 4-cylinder petrol engine. This engine is the world's first series-production powerplant to feature a turbocharger with an electric exhaust gas turbocharger, powered by a 48-volt onboard electrical system. This technology allows the electric exhaust gas turbo to reach astonishing speeds of up to 175,000 RPM, ensuring a high air flow rate.

The 1991cc engine delivers a breathtaking 408 HP at 6750 RPM and 500 Nm of torque at 5500 RPM, coupled with a responsive 9-speed AMG automatic transmission. It catapults from 0 to 100 km/hr in a mere 4.6 seconds, promising an exhilarating driving experience. Mercedes has truly raised the bar with these impressive updates, offering a perfect blend of luxury and performance for Indian enthusiasts.
