Mercedes-Benz Unveils Extended Wheelbase 2024 E-Class, Redefining Luxury in India

Mercedes-Benz e class

Mercedes-Benz took the wraps off the long-awaited 2024 E-Class in a grand debut, and the luxury sedan's allure is undeniable. This all-new model boasts an eye-catching design, inside and out, drawing inspiration from the illustrious S-Class in several aspects. With the Chinese market already introduced to its long wheelbase version, Indian enthusiasts can expect a similar treat when the E-Class L makes its way to their shores, set to arrive by the end of next year in 2024.

While the front and rear profiles remain familiar, it's the side view that truly sets the E-Class L apart. Measuring an impressive 5092 mm in length, it extends a significant 143 mm beyond the standard model. The wheelbase, stretching to 3094 mm, further emphasizes its spacious interior. Inside, the E-Class L mirrors its regular counterpart in terms of dashboard layout, screens, steering wheel, and seats. However, where it truly shines is in the rear passenger seating area, offering a generous expanse of legroom. This attribute is bound to tempt buyers who prioritize roominess over lavish features and opulent materials.

As for the driving experience, the E-Class L doesn't disappoint, offering air suspension and rear-wheel steering to enhance comfort and convenience for its occupants. Although it doesn't quite match the S-Class's exceptional level of comfort, the E-Class L is set to give it a run for its money.

Mercedes-Benz India is expected to provide a choice of petrol and diesel engines for the new E-Class, with no short wheelbase variant in sight. Interestingly, BMW is also contemplating the launch of a long wheelbase variant for its next-generation 5-Series, adding an exciting layer to the luxury sedan segment's fierce competition in the near future.
