Mahindra's Bolero Neo+ Ambulance: Filling the Vital Gap in Patient Transport

Mahindra Introduces Bolero Neo+ Ambulance: Bridging the Gap in Patient Transportation

Indian utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra has recently launched the Bolero Neo+ Ambulance, priced at Rs. 13.99 lakhs (ex-showroom), with a government e-Marketplace (GeM) price of Rs. 12.31 lakhs. This extended wheelbase version of the Bolero Neo Ambulance aims to bridge the gap between smaller van-based ambulances and larger coach-based offerings within the Type B Ambulance segment.

Designed to cater to the diverse requirements of the patient transportation sector, this ambulance is tailored for urban areas, smaller towns, and remote locations. It shares the same body-on-frame platform as the Bolero Neo but boasts a longer wheelbase, providing a more spacious cabin. Additionally, it features a robust 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine, generating 120 HP and 280 Nm of torque, catering to the specific needs of ambulance operators in various markets. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a rear-wheel drive configuration.

The Mahindra Bolero Neo+ Ambulance is fully compliant with AIS:125 (Part 1) norms governing the Type B Ambulance category. Equipped with a single-person operable stretcher mechanism, provision for an oxygen cylinder, a hygiene-friendly washbasin assembly, and a clear communication system via a public address system, it ensures optimal functionality during emergencies. The air-conditioned cabin accommodates D+4 seating.

Furthermore, Mahindra is set to introduce a private vehicle version of the Bolero Neo+ with the same 2.2-litre diesel engine in the near future, expanding its offerings in the market.
