Cruising in Style: Aprilia RS 457 Dominates the Scene with Sleek Design, Tempting Accessories, and Unbeatable Performance!
Aprilia has made an impressive debut in the fully-faired multi-cylinder motorcycle segment in India with the launch of the RS 457. Priced attractively at Rs. 4.1 lakh (ex-showroom), this baby supersports bike shares design elements with the RS 660. Launched at the 10th anniversary of IBW in Goa, bookings for the RS 457 began on December 15. Manufactured locally at Piaggio’s facility in Baramati, Maharashtra, the motorcycle's tempting price point is partly due to its domestic production.
Aprilia has now unveiled the official accessories list for the RS 457, featuring 10 items in the official brochure. These accessories include an electronic antitheft system, front brake lever protection, assembly system for electronic anti-theft, internal and external bike covers, helmet lock, USB charging, high windscreen, heel guard, and front axle protector. Notably, the brochure seems to exclude the promised bi-directional quick-shifter.
Contrary to the brochure, the Apriliaridersclubbengaluru Instagram page reveals a more extensive list of 28 accessories. This expanded selection includes TPMS, side panniers, side pannier holders, tank bags, MIA control unit, a bi-directional quick-shifter, and racing brake pads. Additional accessories not mentioned in the official brochure encompass a passenger seat cover, adjustable front and clutch levers, rear brake lever, gear lever, pilot footpegs, colored transmission chain, fuel tank central protection.
Although the pricing for these accessories is yet to be disclosed, the fact that the RS 457 is manufactured in India suggests that the accessories may be reasonably priced. Aprilia caters to both racing and touring enthusiasts, offering a diverse range of accessories for the sports-tourer.
Competing with the Kawasaki Ninja 400, the Aprilia RS 457 boasts superior features and on-paper performance, presenting a strong value-for-money proposition. However, Yamaha has now entered the competition with the YZF-R3, adding an interesting dynamic to the market. A detailed comparison among the Aprilia RS 457, Kawasaki Ninja 400, and Yamaha YZF-R3 reveals the RS 457's impressive performance metrics of 47 bhp and 43.9 Nm, making it the most feature-packed, aesthetically pleasing, and affordable option in terms of performance.
