BYD Seal Electrifies India: Futuristic Design, Powerful Performance, and Exclusive Benefits Unveiled

BYD has officially introduced the Seal in the Indian market, unveiling a dynamic addition to its pure-electric lineup with a starting price of Rs. 41 lakhs (ex-showroom). Representing the brand's third venture into the electric vehicle segment in India, the BYD Seal is available in three enticing variants: Dynamic, Premium, and Performance. Prospective buyers can secure their BYD Seal by placing bookings with a token amount of Rs. 1.25 lakhs. Those who make their reservation before March 31st stand to enjoy exclusive benefits, including a 7 kW home charger with free installation, a 3 kW portable charging box, a BYD Seal VTOL Mobile Power Supply Unit, 6 years of roadside assistance, and a complimentary inspection service. The Seal boasts a futuristic design, featuring a sporty front profile reminiscent of the Porsche Taycan. Its side profile showcases dual-tone sporty alloy wheels and a coupe-like design, while the rear is adorned with premium-looking tail lamps. Inside the cabin, the Seal offers a cutting-edge experience with a large 15.6-inch central touchscreen infotainment system that can be rotated between landscape and portrait layouts. This is complemented by a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a head-up display. The car comes equipped with luxurious amenities such as ventilated and heated seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and memory functions for the seats and outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs). Safety is a priority with the BYD Seal, as it comes equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including lane departure warning and prevention, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, collision warning system, cross-traffic alert, emergency braking assist, and blind spot assist. Sharing its platform with the Atto 3 electric SUV, the BYD Seal measures 4800 mm in length, 1875 mm in width, and 1460 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2920 mm. It is available in both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations. The Seal offers various powertrain options across its variants. The 'Dynamic' variant features a single electric motor generating 201 BHP and 310 Nm, powered by a 61.44 kWh battery pack, providing a maximum range of 510 km. The 'Premium' variant delivers a higher output of 308 BHP and 360 Nm, with an 82.56 kWh battery pack offering up to 650 km of range. For performance enthusiasts, the all-wheel-drive 'Performance' variant boasts a combined output of 523 BHP and 670 Nm from dual electric motors, powered by an 82.56 kWh battery pack. This variant offers a slightly lower range of 580 km (NEDC) but features torque vectoring and adaptive dampers, achieving 0-100 km/hr in 3.8 seconds. In terms of charging capabilities, all variants support 7 kW AC fast charging, with the Dynamic trim capable of charging at speeds up to 110 kW DC, while the higher variants support up to 150 kW DC fast charging. The BYD Seal comes with an 8-year or 1,60,000 km warranty (whichever comes first) for the traction battery, an 8-year or 1,50,000 km warranty for the motor and motor controller, and a 6-year or 1,50,000 km warranty for the vehicle itself.
