Bajaj Auto's Green Revolution: CNG Motorcycles and Affordable Eco-Friendly Mobility

bajaj platina

Bajaj Auto is revving up for a green transformation, setting its sights on eco-friendly and budget-conscious alternatives in the coming years, including the introduction of a game-changing CNG-powered bike. This forward-thinking company is now exploring a spectrum of cleaner powertrains, from Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and even Ethanol-blended fuel, aiming to revolutionize its entire product lineup, spanning two-wheelers to quadricycles.

Their ultimate goal? To provide consumers with economical transportation choices that not only slash running costs but also leave a minimal environmental footprint.

In a significant breakthrough, Bajaj Auto is on the brink of unveiling a CNG-petrol hybrid motorcycle, codenamed the "Bruzer of E101," in the next 6 to 12 months, should all go according to plan. Prototypes of the 110cc CNG wonder have already materialized, and initial production is set to roll out from the Aurangabad facility, with plans for expansion to the Pant Nagar plant. The rumored branding for this game-changer? The impressive Platina.

Bajaj Auto boasts a stellar record of adapting three-wheelers to CNG and LPG, with a stranglehold on a staggering 90 percent of the passenger three-wheeler market.

Initially, the company aimed to manufacture approximately 1-1.2 lakh CNG bikes each year. However, spurred by mounting demand for cleaner and more economical mobility solutions, this figure has been raised to over 2 lakh units.

While precise details about the CNG bike's features, pricing, and launch dates remain undisclosed, Rajiv Bajaj, the Managing Director of Bajaj Auto, hinted that CNG motorcycles could be a game-changer in addressing affordability hurdles within the 100-110cc segment. And with government support, lower GST rates on CNG vehicles could potentially open the door to more affordable eco-friendly motorcycles for entry-level buyers.

Bajaj's visionary move seamlessly aligns with the automotive industry's broader push for reduced GST rates on cleaner fuels, echoing similar requests from major players like Maruti Suzuki. Get ready for a new era of accessible, eco-conscious two-wheeled adventures with Bajaj Auto.
