Aprilia has taken the wraps off its eagerly anticipated Aprilia RS 457, and India is gearing up to be one of the initial destinations for its grand debut, slated to align with the MotoGP Bharat event later this month. This impressive two-wheeler was meticulously crafted at Aprilia's global hub in Noale, Italy, while simultaneously undergoing rigorous testing and development by the expert team in Baramati, Maharashtra, India. To bring it to life, the production will take place at Piaggio India's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.
At first glance, the Aprilia RS 457 radiates sportiness and aggression, staying true to the design lineage of its distinguished siblings. The front end boasts a striking twin-pod LED cluster complemented by aerodynamic panels. A side view reveals the bike's unmistakably performance-oriented stance, featuring a finely sculpted fuel tank and a dynamically styled split-seat configuration that gives the impression of a single-seat setup.
Under the hood, the Aprilia RS 457 is propelled by a robust 457cc liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder engine, complete with double camshaft timing and four valves per cylinder. This powerhouse churns out a thrilling 48 HP and features a 270-degree connecting rod assembly that adds a touch of sporty symphony to your ride.
In terms of weight, the motorcycle maintains a dry weight of 159 kg and a wet weight of 175 kg. It is equipped with 41 mm USD front forks offering 120 mm of travel and preload adjustability. The rear boasts a pre-load adjustable monoshock coupled with a steel swingarm, providing 130 mm of wheel travel.
Braking prowess is harnessed through a 320 mm front disc with a ByBre radial-mount 4-piston caliper, while the rear employs ByBre caliper brakes with a 220 mm steel disc. Safety is paramount with the inclusion of a two-channel ABS system with dual usage maps. The 17-inch rims are paired with 110/70 tires at the front and 150/60 at the rear.
The Aprilia RS 457 raises the bar with its Ride by Wire system, offering three distinct riding modes that modulate power, torque delivery, and traction control, all adjustable across three levels, with an option to deactivate. For added convenience, a quickshifter will be available as an accessory.
Augmenting the rider's experience is a state-of-the-art 5-inch TFT color instrument cluster, complemented by backlit handlebar controls.
