2024 Maruti Dzire: Unveiling the Future of Compact Elegance on Indian Roads

The first sightings of the 2024 Maruti Dzire prototype undergoing testing in India have emerged. Built on the foundation of the new Swift generation, this compact sedan shares its styling and mechanics with the hatchback counterpart. Initial glimpses of the test models are concealed under heavy camouflage, revealing limited details. While the front profile remains obscured, it is anticipated to resemble the new Swift with subtle variations in the grille for product differentiation.

The side profile showcases the inclusion of a camera module on the Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVM), indicating the incorporation of a 360-degree parking camera feature. The overall profile bears a resemblance to the outgoing Dzire generation, with the promise of new alloy wheel options. The rear exhibits a sharper design with updated LED tail lights, a flat and sharp boot to optimize the 4-meter length, and an imposing bumper suggesting potential design modifications.

Inside, the dashboard mirrors that of the Swift, adopting a lighter color scheme, such as beige and black or light grey and black, deviating from the hatchback's all-black treatment. Noteworthy features include a larger touchscreen infotainment display featuring the latest user interface, a potential heads-up display, wireless charging, wireless connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, among other features. The Inside Rear View Mirror (IRVM) appears basic, lacking the auto-dimming feature.

Under the hood, the new Maruti Dzire will be powered by a new Z-Series 1.2-liter naturally aspirated 3-cylinder petrol engine generating 82 BHP and 108 Nm of torque. It will offer both 5-speed manual and Automated Manual Transmission (AMT) options.

The pricing for the upcoming Maruti Dzire is expected to see a marginal increase. Positioned to compete with rivals like the Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze, and Tata Tigor, the sedan aims to capture the market with its refreshed design, advanced features, and reliable performance.
