2024 Jeep Compass Breaks New Ground in India with 2WD Diesel Automatic Option

The 2024 Jeep Compass has made its debut in India, offering a 2WD diesel automatic option with a starting price of Rs. 23.99 lakhs (ex-showroom). This marks a significant addition to the Compass lineup in India, which, since its introduction in 2017, had only included two automatic variants - a 4×2 petrol and a 4×4 diesel.

Notably, this is the first time the 4×2 diesel automatic configuration has been introduced since the Compass's launch, and it has been specifically tailored for the Indian market, as the petrol variants were recently discontinued.

The 2024 Jeep Compass receives a refresh with new alloy wheel designs and an updated grille. Jeep India has also unveiled a special edition called the BlackShark, which features glossy black accents on the grille, lower fascia, flares, and cladding. It rides on striking 18-inch gloss black alloy wheels, and the interior sports an all-black theme with red accents to enhance its sporty appeal.

Under the hood, the updated Jeep Compass retains its 2.0-litre diesel engine, generating 170 PS and 350 Nm of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. It claims a 0-100 km/hr acceleration time of 9.8 seconds.

The Jeep Compass is now available in five different variants: Sport, Longitude/Longitude Plus, Limited, BlackShark, and Model S. It comes in seven eye-catching color options: Pearl White, Diamond Black, Techno Metallic Green, Exotica Red, Grigio Magnesio Grey, Minimal Grey, and Galaxy Blue.

With this latest addition, the lineup offers three powertrain configurations: Diesel 4×4 automatic, Diesel 4×2 automatic, and Diesel 4×2 manual. The 2024 Jeep Compass starts at a base price of Rs. 20.49 lakhs (ex-showroom).
